| Kino-Flo Diva Lights |
| Wednesday, 1 of April 2026 |
 |
The Diva-Lite 400 and 200 are soft light sources ideally suited for Television or Film documentary shooting styles. The units provide a broad soft and diffuse light. As a cosmetic light source they are ideal for news presenters reporting from locations around the world. Their compact size and rugged lightweight nature make them well suited for travel.
The Diva-Lite puts out a broad soft wash of light. The drop off is like the light off of a bounce card. For this reason it is most effective in close proximity to the subject. By being close the light is softer and easily controlled with the built-in barndoors and detachable louvers.
This instrument is proving to be very popular for interviews. It is small enough to travel easily. It is light enough to rig onto lighting stands or onto grip arms. An interview can be done with as little as a single Diva-Lite 400 and a bounce card. Diva-Lites operate on Kino Flo True Match 55 watt compact fluorescent lamps. Daylight balance (KF55) and tungsten balanced (choice of KF29 or KF32) lamps are available. Light level control is established through an on board dimmer as well as by 2 and 4 lamp switching. An in-line power switch controls the power. Louvers provide control over the spread of the light. |

Schneider introduces TRUE-CUT IR-750 filter
Because what you can't see can still degrade your digital footage, Schneider Optics introduces the TRUE-CUT IR-750 filter, designed to eliminate light in the infra-red (IR) spectrum before it reaches a high definition camera's sensors.
IR Pollution Issue Most high-definition cameras have a high sensitivity to light in the IR spectrum, and though the IR light is not visible to the human eye, it can result in odd color shifts and prevent a camera's imagers from capturing true black tones. As digital cinematographers use multi-stop neutral-density (ND) filters to allow them to open their lens iris for more depth of field, IR light begins to dominate light from the visible spectrum, making its pollution more apparent.
Blocking the IR Spectrum Schneider, a world leader in precision optics for nearly a century, developed its TRUE-CUT IR-750 filter to remove the IR spectrum from the light path, resulting in more vibrant colors and true black tones from both CCD and CMOS sensors. The TRUE-CUT IR filter blocks the IR light mere nanometers from the visible spectrum, cutting IR pollution from the image. Schneider Precision
The TRUE-CUT IR-750 filter maintains a high MTF (modulation transfer function) in the visible spectrum and its coating meets or exceeds military standards for durability; thus it is easily cleaned. Like all Schneider professional filters, the TRUE-CUT IR-750 filter is manufactured from crystal clear, water white optical glass that is diamond cut, precision ground and polished to the most exacting tolerances.
